On December 2th, the Latin American One Young World Congress 2023 took place in Lima, Peru. The event was a collaborative effort between the British Embassy in Peru and Credicorp, and was hosted at the auditorium of Banco de Credito del Peru’s main headquarters in Lima. Angelit Meza, our Sustainable Projects Coordinator at Microsol, participated in the panel discussion: “Sustainability in Latin America: Youth Action against Climate Change”.
The 1st Latin American Congress was a meeting of young leaders, involved in promoting significant experiences and impact projects for their ambassadors in Latin America.
The congress served as a platform for young leaders to share their impactful experiences, and projects, with their peers in Latin America, and to meet up with prominent national business representatives and young Ambassadors from the region. The event featured inspirational stories centered around innovation, gender equity, climate action, and youth empowerment, with the aim of encouraging young individuals to create positive impacts in their respective fields. The panel discussions and action sessions were aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Microsol was invited to showcase its significant contributions in the areas of technological and sustainable innovation, carbon footprint reduction, mitigation strategies, and the crucial role of women in combating climate change.
Our mission is to improve the livelihoods of rural communities in Latin America, while reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GHG) at the source. We manage two carbon certification programs in the voluntary market, Qori Q’oncha in Peru, and Utsil Naj in Central America (Mexico, Guatemala and Honduras), both responding to 7 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Likewise, we manage the first ITMO Program (Internationally Transferred Mitigation Outcomes), of Improved Cookstoves (ICS) in the region, as part of the bilateral agreement between the governments of Switzerland and Peru, within the framework of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, currently in the process of validation, aiming to respond to 12 SDGs.
