Climate & Clean Air Coalition (CCAC)

Road Map for Clean and Improved cookstoves for the Latin American region and support for a clean air strategy in Uruguay.

Summary: The government of Uruguay, aided by the Climate & Clean Air Coalition (CCAC), chose Microsol to support and carry out studies related to clean cooking and heating. The project included:

  1. A comparative analysis of the rural cooking sector between Peru, Mexico, and Colombia.
  2. A proposal for a roadmap to improve residential heating in Montevideo, Uruguay.
  3. A report about the relationship between the short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) and rural cooking in Peru, Mexico, and Colombia.

PeruÂŽs Ministry of Energy and Mining (MINEM)

Diagnostic, Evaluation and Analysis study to aid in the design of the rural electrification, cooking and heating NAMA in Peru.

Summary: The first part of the study focused on gathering data about the state of the cooking sector on a national level considering available technologies. The second part of the study was based on greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions analysis, and the design of an action roadmap strategy to create a Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMA) for adequate technologies that would contribute to PeruÂŽs Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).
